I Agree with Creativity in Marketing.
One of the most painful realities of speaking and teaching young people is the lack of creativity in the materials used to reach and teach kids. It's so bad at times that, most of the posters I see about not doing drugs or anti-bulling, incline me to think I SHOULD do drugs or beat-up people, so kids know that I am not associated with folks that make these silly posters.
I desperately desire that educators and parents could realize we're more often than not loosing young people to more effective marketing, rather than young peoples love for negative behavior.
One of the greatest joys of my life is that EPIC has been given the opportunity to grow past a company that simply teaches and speaks, but that we are also doing marketing consulting for schools and organizations that target young people. Being a marketing consultant for a major university had given us precisely type of influence I've desired. Because, this role enables us to ensure that young people can here truths about what it takes to thrive in the world, while preventing professors and/or college administrators to shoot themselves in the foot, by spreading a message kids deem as lame or cheesy.
